Opera:
•This is a year long project with Calgary Opera where a librettist will gather ideas from our students to create our story, and a composer will work with us to create our music. We will have a director to help us make the opera a reality!
•It is a school wide community building event that will involve all students and staff.
•There will be both daytime and evening performances on May 27 & 28.
•We will need volunteers to help us! If you have a skill or interest you would like to share with us we will need help with costumes (sewing), set building (carpentry), prop making, choreography, setup and strike crew (muscles lol), make up, hospitality, merchandise, advertising, front of house, research, business manager or treasurer.
•Calgary Opera has extended a discounted ticket rate to our students and families for specific performances! Please show the poster I am attaching with all of the info. They just call the box office and let them know they are with Hawkwood School Let's Create an Opera.
Volunteers:
•In-class volunteers welcome!
•Field trip volunteers needed
•Email or through sign-up genius (coming soon)
